I had to get used to this myself, but now I don't want to miss it anymore.Īnyway, I think nobody would say that Mellel as-it-is is perfect.
#MELLEL VS DAVKAWRITER PRO#
The pro is it works in all writing apps and helps you giving your text a consistent look whatever program you're writing in. The con of key loggers, beside the extra costs, is less functionality compared to an in-program solution (a key logger just loggs keys and doesn't know zilch about the surrounding text). This kind of using spaces may be rare if not unique, but French is one of the big languages on this planet and should be supported properly.Ī key logger like Typinator could replace every ! by non-breaking space-! and so on but that leads back to the question why third party applications are needed for stuff Word does by itself. Why this isn't the default for French quotes I don't understand. Just add them – non-breaking spaces by alt+space, that is! – to the French quotes coming with Mellel. Indexing, automatic capitals, spaces between quotes, ?, !, and words (à la Word), for French users, etc.Īt least the spaces between quotes and words can be set easily in the Mellel preferences.
